AI recommendations are not one universal ranking system
“AI search” is not a single directory with one ranking formula. ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and other assistants can use different models, sources and retrieval systems. A business can appear in one experience and not another.
That is why we would not sell you a promise like “rank #1 in ChatGPT.” There is no honest way to guarantee that.
Why a competitor may be easier for systems to understand
Often the issue is not that the competitor is objectively better. Their online footprint may simply be clearer. They may have a stronger website, more detailed service pages, consistent business information, more reviews, better local relevance, more original proof, or more third-party mentions.
If your website only says “we provide great service” while a competitor clearly explains who they serve, what they do, where they work and why customers choose them, the competitor gives search systems more useful information to work with.
What you can improve
- Make your core services obvious on dedicated pages.
- Use your real business name, phone, service area and contact information consistently.
- Keep your Google Business Profile accurate.
- Add original photos, video, case studies and first-hand examples.
- Answer real customer questions in useful resource pages.
- Earn legitimate reviews, partnerships, press, directory listings and community mentions over time.
Do not build an “AI content farm”
Google’s current guidance specifically emphasizes unique, non-commodity content and warns against publishing large amounts of low-value pages merely to manipulate rankings or AI responses. Ten genuinely useful pages can be a better long-term asset than one hundred interchangeable articles.
The goal is not to write for a robot. The goal is to make your business unusually clear and useful online.
